This week we released version 1.7.1 bringing some significant changes to how CiviHR works, looks, and feels.


Leave in Hours

Leave (and work patterns) can now be specified in hours as well as days. It is possible to have some of your staff taking leave in hours and others to be taking leave in days.


Onboarding Wizard

When staff login to the Self Service Portal for the first time, they are now greeted by an Onboarding Wizard that prompts them to enter their personal details, so removing workload from the HR Manager. If the HR Manager has already entered these details in HR Admin  then the staff can review them and need only make changes as required.

New top menu

The functions of the buttons on the top menu remain the same, but most of the names have been changed to make for clearer understanding:

Home - Search - Staff - Tasks - Leave - Recruitment - Configure - Help - Self Service Portal

We have also added HR Admin as a button to the menu of the Self Service Portal so switching between the two CiviHR applications (HR Admin and Self Service Portal)  should feel easier now.


Leave added to Staff Summary

Leave has now been added to the Staff Summary screen. It shows the balance of entitlements remaining for each leave type and a list of any leave requests that have been made for the future. There is also a section displaying the number of sick days taken and a heatmap indicating the days of the week most frequently taken as sick.

Sharper colours

The red, white, and blue theme remains, but now with sharper contrast that conforms to the WCAG guidelines for making web content more accessible for people with disabilities.
