The Idea

We observed some basic realities.

Professionals want to make a social impact. However, they want to make sure that:

  • the NGO they work with is genuine,
  • their contribution makes an actual difference,
  • the activitiy is something that they enjoy doing, and
  • the experience adds to their professional or personal growth.

NGOs need high quality professional skills to increase their impact, but are constrained by budget and scale of operation.

Companies need cash-efficient ways of demonstrating corporate social responsibility (CSR). Leading companies already have employee volunteering programmes of various kinds. Skill sharing is simply a specialized kind of employee volunteering.
